Google file stream download for mac 10.10
Strange tabs style. Good for kids. Sgginc Sep 15 Why can't Google SW engineers fix Error 12 when updating. I've tried everything. Lonewolf1 Sep 3 Worst update ever Hangs on startup almost everytime. Interrupt other applications network connection Back to Safari again.
Bousozoku Sep 2 It works well enough as a secondary browser. Unfortunately, for me, it is lagging on Blogger and YouTube, in contrast to Firefox. Does that make sense that it works poorly on Google-owned sites? It doesn't. It's really not bad on other platforms.
It seems, with all of its processes, to require more resources. Using it on a MacBook Pro 2. I use it for a few downloads where Firefox isn't happy, and places where Safari might be better than Firefox. I don't use Safari. Dm Sep 2 I can not use Chrome, because the colors are too saturated on a monitor with a large gamut. Chrome does not use the monitor profile for objects without ICC profile. Safari and iCab are the only browsers that I know, which displays colors corroct in sRGB on all monitors as far as possible.
In Firefox you have to change preferences, or use the add-on Color Management.. Morgan-Freeman Aug 13 I cannot find any difference with safari. It did all that safari does. Scion Aug 12 Jeff-Nailen Jul 30 The smaller icons are great for optimizing screen space.
Chrome keeps getting better! Hi there Does anyone know what versions were the last that could work with I've tried different browsers, like Firefox, Opera and Safari, they are not bad but I feel myself the most comfortable only with Google Chrome. Well, I'll try to be objective describing this app. Great features: - fast processing; - minimalist design only few buttons but that's enough ; - Google homepage with the most using pages; - quick access to the bookmarks; - lots of different extensions; -Google docs work perfectly; - free and easy to install on any device.
Less great features: - utmost simplicity for people who appreciate rich functions interface seems like this is the only feature I have found. So, Google Chrome is considered to be a must have browser on every computer. JosephAW Apr 14 I see I was able to run google chrome So they haven't moved to the new xcode compilers with new libs that will exclude George6 Mar 18 Brooklyn-Al Mar 10 A consistent problem I have encountered with Google Chrome is that does not remember passwords or prompt the user to save website passwords.
In fairness, all web browsers I have used occasionally do not remember or offer to remember passwords but they Firefox, Safari are far better at it. Although, Chrome is a competent web browser for me at least that is a deal breaker, and consequently, I rarely use it. Web-Jive Feb 10 Great browser. Lots of extenssions. Disadvantages: It is not energy efficient and it is ugly. People from Google, do some small changes in appearance.
More native look! Learn from Opera. I love Chrome but because it doesn't support swipe between pages on my Magic Mouse 2 I am forced to use Firefox.
Scion Dec 13 Add some capacity, Google! For God's sakes, you have money enough!! Jeffsters Nov 12 This is VERY sad. I understand that MacUpdate has to make money but to suddenly start this forced "MacUpdate Installer" with no warning or explanation has me seeing the fiasco that was Version Tracker all over again.
I would make the "Install Now I would need to put a lot more thought into this but you get the idea! My point being there is the right way to do this and the Version Tracker way to introduce change and unfortunately MacUpdate has chosen to not learn from the past. Going forward I will still use this site but go to the developer's page for the updates and not use the links here.
Don't I feel like the fool! Solo68 Nov 3 Google Chrome is full of it! Not more than a week ago I just happened to look through Launchpad and found a Google app icon sitting there. I was completely shocked, and immediately lost my temper because the only Google software I installed on my Mac was Google Chrome. But to my utter surprise another app from Google was just sitting there in Launchpad. So I went to my Applications folder so I could uninstall it. It was not there. The only Google app that was there was Google Chrome.
Oh, I completely lost it! I thought to myself my computer, my Mac is hacked! Guess what? Along with it, now I saw three other Google apps installed. Words cannot express how furious I was to see this. I couldn't contain my anger. My tongue unleashed every verbal slur I could against Google. In a complete rage I went back to my Applications folder to see if I could find any of these Google apps. They were no where in sight. I could barely think straight as the chemicals in my brain were firing off in skewed proportions.
And guess what? Again, words cannot describe how pissed I was at this point. Immediately I began uninstalling everything Google on my computer. Long story short, Google can kiss the deepest portions of the crack of my ass! I will never install another Google app on my computer or any other computer for as long as I live. I can care less how much anyone else love's Google, neither do I care if they think their experience with this completely intrusive developer has been a bed of roses, and neither do I care if somewhere deep in the terms of service a statement exists giving Google permission to install whatever the hell they want any time they want.
There is no need for me to tell Google to go to hell because that is already a certainty! This review also serves as fair warning to anyone with Google software installed on your computer s. Also, you can do like I did after this horrible experience and go to the Web to read of similar experiences by other computer users that just happened upon Google apps suddenly appearing on their computers if my story is not enough to convince you to stay the hell away from Google.
Lastly, I wish I could remember all of the names of Google apps that seemed to install themselves, but I was far to furious to think straight to remember. Nonetheless, I do recall seeing Google Drive as one of the four.
Anyone willing, and that is a keyword, willing to continue using Google apps on your computer will not get any flack from me, but I do recommend you get your head examined because you're an idiot! It is a good thing Apple has this app called Launchpad because without it I would never have known Google violated my privacy, and installed apps without my consent. Thanks, Apple! Guest Oct 25 It completely broke Java and other plugins, because they decided to remove standards that all other browsers support.
I rolled back to version 43 for now to wait and see if they ever come to their senses and fix it, otherwise, they are recommending that you use Safari or Firefox, which I don't want to do! Version 45 is broken too. They broke it after Sept 1st. Oclair Oct 24 This is unacceptable. Andrew-Oldman Oct 5 Using Chrome on Windows is pleasure, using it on Mac is problem.
Lonewolf1 Sep 25 The latest versions have been all but good so I've left Chrome as my primary browser.
There are better alternatives that actually works fine. Fringewood Sep 2 This is the most intrusive browser available, tracking every site you visit and reporting it directly to Google. I made the mistake of installing it once, and removing it was a nightmare, self-replicating applications kept replacing what I deleted. I had to gut the application that was replacing everything wasn't easy to find and lock it so it wouldn't replace itself, to finally remove everything.
I will never install this trash again on any machine I own. Fast, responsive, intuitive, stable, good-looking, secure, multi-functional, multi-platform and so on. MeCox Aug 19 I like Google Chrome! Google Chrome is a good browser if you want to have everything synced across your devices. That is the price to pay for quality, I guess.
Many people are talking about privacy and things like that in this thread. Do you really think someone is spying on you all the time? Nobody cares about your life and browser history unless you're a president or a billionaire. No problem - pull up the same tab within Chrome on your iPhone.
Once you are home and ready to start cooking, just pull up the same Chrome recipe tab on your tablet. With the world moving faster than ever before, functionality like this can help make life a little easier. Chrome will only sync this data on your approved devices, so you can rest easy that your information is safe. CPU usage is immensely important when choosing a web browser. Chrome for Mac is currently available in 47 languages. It can only be installed on Intel Macs, currently limiting its userbase.
Mac users can manage how their browsing history is used to personalize search, ads, and more by navigating to their 'Sync Settings' within Chrome. Encryption options, auto-completion of searches and URLs, similar page suggestions, safe browsing, and enhanced spell check are also available within the settings tab, helping users feel more in control of their browsing experience. Chrome may successfully install on devices with lesser system requirements; however, Google only provides support on a system meeting the minimum system requirements.
For Mac users, Safari is the standard out-of-the-box browser installed on new devices. Most users prefer a web browser with better functionality than Safari. However, Chrome comes out ahead of Safari in terms of browsing speed, extensions, and video loading capabilities.
Mozilla Firefox is another commonly used web browser among Mac users, though its memory usage knocks it down on the list of competitors. The main draw to Mozilla Firefox over Chrome is that because Firefox is open source, nothing fishy is going on behind the scenes.
Google is notorious for capturing and using data which rightfully makes people uncomfortable. Mac users tend to do things their own way. Google Chrome is much more 'going along with the crowd'.
Putting that aside, Mac owners should dig into what they really use their web browsers for, and determine if data privacy or features is more important to them.
This functionality works for Sheets, Slides, and Docs. Moreover, offline viewing is supported across devices. In order to set up the feature, you need to use Google Drive on Chrome for desktops.
